Concluding

Final words

AMD once again has made some really nice progress with the new Radeon Adrenalin compared towards the Crimson suite. Next to the obvious incremental performance increases over time AMD has placed more emphasis on lowering latency, Radeon Chill and mainly Vulkan support. All good stuff. The biggest improvements need to be found in the ReLive suits. Here AMD has made tremendous steps forward. Recording and streaming itself have a lesser impact on game performance, which is a great thing. The new Overlay is nice and gives you the opportunity to change a handful of settings while in-game, not having to exit that game. And that is a huge bonus.

Harbored into the suite is a monitoring overlay for the core data like framerates, VRAM usage, clock frequencies and well, the main stuff. Somebody has been looking at AfterBurner :) All good stuff, as mentioned I wanted to show you that functionality in a video, at the time of writing the performance overlay itself, however, could not be recorded in the actual video. We'll likely get back on that later. Or, just check it out yourself when you try the drivers.

All new is AMD LINK, the ability to link up your PC towards a smartphone application. With the beta we played around for a while, it certainly is fun. I, however, am not sure how widespread popular this will be. Personally, I find to have all my statistics data in an overlay on the screen much handier. We did a similar thing with AfterBurner, and really that never became a success. The implementation, however, as-is, works pretty nice. AMD needs to be very careful that the application does not become a spam-fest of advertisements. For example, When the main screen loads up after you start the app, and when you touch your smartphone screen, instantly pops open a browser and loads up an AMD page. It's stuff like that that annoys people. But again Beta, AMD is still playing with a lot of stuff at the moment. That stated, talk is cheap and I think we shared enough information, go try out the new software yourself.

You can download it from the Guru3D.com download servers, download Radeon Adrinalin 17.12.1 here, if you like to try out AMD LINK on your Android smartphone, you can find it here.
