Right then, here we have the 9" long Radeon HD 6850. The reference cooler hints a lot to the R5800 series alright, with the exception of minor tweaks of course. The cooler used on the R6850 is more than sufficient and under heft stress will rotate at 30 to 40% of it's fan RPM capacity. The end result is a very in-audible product.

As stated, the card comes with two DisplayPort 1.2 connectors, one HDMI 1.4a connector and two DVI connectors of which one is single and the other dual-link. If you have a very high resolution monitor at 2560x1600 and connect your card to the single link connector, your resolution would be limited to ~1280x1024 or something close. Use the dual-link connector, and you'll have the full 2560x1600 resolution available. This of course only applies to the two DVI connectors.

The backside of the product reveals something interesting, ATI put only one CrossfireX connector on there, meaning a maximum of two cards in CFX mode is supported only. Nice black PCB, clean looks and design.

Located at the backside we spot one 6-pin power connector. This card only peaks to 119W, so 75W is supplied through the PCIe slot, and the other 75W through the 6-pin PCIe PEG connector. This card will offer great performance per watt.

One last photo of the product, here we have the card setup and being tested in our test platform. Quite a lovely sight really, but then again we have this entire dark/black thing going on in our chassis. But let's have a peek at the Radeon HD 6870.
