Introduction

PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX Hellhound Spectral White review
With 24GB and an elegant design

The PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX Hellhound Spectral White delivers top-tier performance, a sleek white aesthetic, impressive cooling capabilities, and a robust power delivery system. Priced at $1029 / 1099 euro, this graphics card features a 14-layer PCB with 2oz copper layers and a 12+3+2+2+1 phase VRM design, with a 2+1 configuration dedicated to the memory. The Hellhound RX 7900 XTX boasts a triple ringed-fan system (100 x 90 x 100mm), eight 6φ heatpipes, and a copper plate that directly touches the GPU and covers VRAM, enhancing cooling efficiency. Outperforming its competition, this card has a 2525 MHz boost frequency, and 350W TGP. The three-slot GPU design enables higher clock speeds compared to reference models. It has a duo of 8-pin power inputs, offering three DisplayPort ports and one HDMI port instead. Housing the flagship Radeon RX 7900 GPU, the XTX model utilizes the cutting-edge RDNA3 GPU architecture and 24GB of graphics memory.  While the 24GB GDDR6 memory capacity is on par with the RTX 4090, the RX 7900 XTX's memory speed is slower. Nonetheless, its expansive 384-bit memory bus and infinity cache contribute to a substantial bandwidth advantage. The initial launch includes the 7900XT and 7900 XTX, both built on the Navi 31 GPU with RDNA3 architecture and a new chiplet design. The Navi 31 GPU's die area measures 300mm², and AMD has confirmed that its RDNA 3 GPUs offer a significant performance increase. Key features of the RDNA 3 GPUs will be highlighted by AMD, demonstrating the potential of this graphics card.

PowerColor introduced the Spectral White edition of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, dubbed the White Hellhound Edition, ensuring a perfect blend of performance and style. The original dark iteration of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Hellhound debuted in December. The Spectral White edition maintains the LED switching system and dual 8-pin PCIe power inputs found in its predecessor, with specifications and features expected to be consistent across both models. The PowerColor Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Spectral White Edition is equipped with an 8X6Φ nickel-plated heat-pipe cooler and a smooth nickel-plated copper base for optimal heat dissipation. It also includes a 20-phase VRM with DrMOS, high polymer capacitors, and two 8-pin PCI-E connectors for top-tier performance. Additionally, it supports real-time ray tracing and variable rate shading for more lifelike lighting and shading effects. The Hellhound AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Spectral White Edition boasts 6,144 stream processors, a Boost Clock of up to 2,525MHz, and a Game Clock of up to 2,330MHz. It also features 24GB of high-speed GDDR6 memory clocked at 20Gbps effective and 96MB of Infinity Cache, allowing for 4K gaming at maximum settings.
