PowerColor Radeon RX 580 Red Devil review - Product Photos

Alright, so there she is; the Radeon RX 580 from PowerColor, we received is an 8 GB version with the a heatpipe slash radiator design cooler. It has one PCIe PEG power connector (8-pin) and then one 6-pin connector as well. The card has been designed to be a nice match for Full HD gaming, up-to 1080P and even 1440P.  The PCB is as mentioned matte black with red in color. PowerColor Red Devil RX 580 enlarges the surface of heatsink and equips with 8mm heat pipes which lower the temperature but increase performance.
 

 
In our findings the card is roughly 10% faster compared to the Radeon RX 480, and at 269 USD with 8GB that's not a bad position to be in. Obviously there's more to check out other than performance, we'll have a peek at PCB heat levels, GPU temperatures as well as noise levels.  
  

 
This Radeon RX 580 is armed with 8 GB graphics memory which will be clocked at 8.0 Gbps / 256-bit to give you a little more leash with the higher resolutions and image quality settings. The reference clocked product will run with clock frequencies up-to 1257 MHz on its 2304 shader processors with a 1340 Boost, this model comes clocked in at a 1425 MHz boost at default settings in the default OC modus. The card itself is a triple-slot solution. In low-load situations the fans stop spinning when they are not needed. Up-to roughly 60 Degrees C thus the fans will not  spin. Also, check out that backside where there is a thick sturdy metal back-plate with some venting spaces applied as well. BTW the logo is indeed resembling a pentagram. 
 
  

This Polaris 20 based product has been designed to be a match for the most popular Full HD and Wide Quad HD resolutions. Actually, it places a strong focus on 1440P gaming. powerColor includes one HDMI (2.0b), three DisplayPort 1.4 (HDR ready) connectors as well as a DVI connector. 
 

 
At the front top side you can select your BIOS preference, we test at defaults which is the OC modus (factory tweaked), switch it to mode two and the clocks and noise levels will lower itself.
