PowerColor Radeon R9 390 PCS+ 8GB review -
Product Photos
Much like most R9-390 cards the card has a power consumption that lies, give or take, in the 250 Watts range. The board's overall power consumption from idle to load is okay really, roughly 10 Watts in idle and, when the monitor goes into sleep mode, just 3 Watts. And yes, it is a nice looking card alright.
Nice backplate with enough distance in-between the PCB and shield, allowing the VRM area and GPU to ventilate and not trap heat. So yeah, that helps cooling wise instead of trapping heat. Back-plates do protect the PCB SMT & DIP components, makes the product way more sturdy and sure, it looks much nicer.
You will need to hook the 390 card up to your power supply with one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCIe PEG connector. We recommend a 550~600W power supply to start with, with one card of course.
A terrific looking card alright, albeit a notch thicker than its predecessor.
