Here we can see the M2 PCB a little better and see the model 9183 Marvell controller. With these you get the full TRIM support and Garbage collection under Windows 7/8 or deleting files off of, will result in LBAs being TRIMed.

As you can see the M.2. card is nothing more than a standalone SSD unit connected to a simple PCIe card to make it work on existing motherboards.

Plextor is making use of some very sweet 19nm Toshiba NAND flash ICs, asynchronous MLC. There is also a DRAM cache of 512MB present on this SSD btw.
