Performance - DDR3 Memory read | write

Memory Read test

Obviously we also had to peek at memory bandwidth performance. Now, obviously Intel has an advantage here, triple-channel memory. This explains the tremendous amount of read performance for the Core i7 platform.

Now we enforce a slight change and are selecting a 1333 MHz DDR3 frequency from now on for the Phenom II processors. The difference in performance over 1066MHz is close to NIL though.

Memory Write test

We did the same with the memory write tests. Intel absolutely dominates with the memory controller based on-die Nehalem family processors.

Sandra Memory Index

One more memory test, here we make use of the Sandra Memory performance test, it gives us an index score of overall memory performance. Here again the numbers show amazing perf differences.
