The Phanteks Evolv X is equipped with two 140 mm fans. You can install up to three 120/140 mm ones instead. This amount of space is enough to fit even 420 mm radiators.
Here you can see the two LED strips running along the front panel.
You can mount up to a 95 mm radiator + fan (typically 25 mm wide) setup, so the radiator itself can be as beefy as 70 mm.
The backside of the Phanteks chassis is super clean, with two metal covers which do a good job good hiding all the cables, and also serve as SSD mounting points.
Even though a brilliant idea has been used here, the clearance is not as big as we would like it to be. It’s in the 20 mm range, and we’d appreciate at least 5 mm more to be on the safe side. At the lower-left side, there is a place for up to four removable HDD/SSD cages. The standard cables include USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C (not every motherboard has headers for that), and front panel connections (with HD audio), as well as two SATA connectors.
One of these is used for powering up the lighting installed in the chassis. You can also connect it to Aura Sync and MSI Mystic Light Sync motherboards.
The other one is for the fan hub. The cabling is black, which improves the aesthetics of the whole package. It’s possible to connect three 3-pin fans, four typical 4-pin (PWM) ones, and the last port is universal (3/4 pin). You need to connect the fan hub to a port on your motherboard to be able to control the fans.
The last thing that I’d like to mention on this side is the GPU anti-sag bracket. The test system didn’t need it, as it’s an AIO-cooled graphics cards, not as heavy as some of the best air cooling solutions on the market (like the Asus Strix or the MSI TwinFrozr).
