Phanteks EVOLV X review - Product showcase – interior

Both side panels are easy to open (after undoing the thumbscrews, which are used mainly to secure the panels in transport). Let’s see what’s waiting for us inside, with the panels wide open.

The first thing that will catch your attention would be the plastic covers with the Phanteks logo on them, intended to conceal cables coming to the motherboard from the side. They can be adjusted as needed in order to fit (and hide) your cables the most effectively.

If you remove the cover, there’s room for up to six 3.5” drives or a reservoir for a custom liquid cooling loop. Here you can also see the LED strip running along the PSU Shroud.

You can install your SSD/HDDs in the rear part of the chassis. There are three places for SSDs on each of the metal covers, and you can install three additional ones under the backplate cut-out(the extra cages are sold separately). Regarding the 3.5”drive cages, they’re placed on the bottom-left side, in the PSU shroud compartment, and you can mount up to four drives there.

Although it’s not a giant case, it’s easy to access the motherboard ports and you can fit really huge components here. The case supports graphics cards up to 435 mm in length, and CPU coolers up to 190 mm in height. We have yet to see anything even close to these limits out in the wild.
