The front panel, top panel, and side doors are all made out of either steel  or aluminum (face plates). The chassis a has a white smooth paint-job. At the top there is a door hiding some front-panel functions. Phanteks offers the chassis in white or black and we received the white edition for review.

The chassis can house up-to three ODD units. You simply remove the cover and slide them in. When you remove the side panels you will be able secure them tightly with a tool free design mechanism.

The top ventilation mesh can be removed easily as well. On the top side you push the unit and an the faceplate comes out. Now you can clean the dust from the filters or access the fans quite easily. The large mesh grill allows for airflow. What is handy here is that you can install say a 360 mm radiator really easy as you have easy access. BTW observe that the fans are located inside the frame, this brings in enough room for even thick radiators.

The top optical port is in fact a door/latch that allows you to access front-panel I/O options and control including a control button for selecting the color of the embedded ambient LED lighting system.

Once opened up you will see 2x USB 3.0, 2x USB 2.0, Mic, Headphone as well as a reset and ambient LED color control button.

Now take a good look at the innards. Everything has been designed in a stealthy fashion. Pretty much all important components will be hidden, so this way only the motherboard and liquid cooling would show. We see grommet holes with rubber inlays and a lot of covers. A fantastic design if you ask me. A good and popular trend these days is to make a big gaping hole in the motherboard tray. This actually is a CPU back-plate cutout which allows you to remove and install a new CPU cooler much easier. Typically you'd need to take out the motherboard to install a new cooler, now you can access it from both sides without that unpleasant experience of removing a motherboard from the chassis.
