The Ampere series is going to replace the Turing lineup, which will fade out of the market as these new cards sit right on top of their prices, yet are much faster. So what will the 3090 Replace? Well noting, as the 2080 Ti already was dominated by the RTX 3080 and that one 'only' had 8704 stream/Shader processors.

  • The reference 3070 cards have a peak boost clock up-to 1.73 GHz, with the base clock hovering in the 1.50 GHz domain.
  • The reference 3080 cards have a peak boost clock up-to 1.71 GHz, with the base clock hovering in the 1.44 GHz domain.
  • The reference 3090 cards have a peak boost clock up-to 1.70 GHz, with the base clock hovering in the 1.40 GHz domain.

As mentioned it weight in at roughly 1.5 kg, so be sure when installing you do that carefully as when not secured with screws you could easily snap that PCIe Slot of yours. Also, be aware of the fact that the product oozes heat a lot, you'll need a good ventilated PC with properly located intake (front)  and vent (read/top). Palit will also include an optional to use bracket preventing the card from sagging down when installed horizontally.
