5 - The Conclusion

The Verdict

I already stated that flash memories in whatever form and size are the future, it's technology around the corner that is growing rapidly and getting more fast by the minute as well. A very nice development.

The two products tested today are good examples of that. Two years ago we were reading/writing with USB 1.09 speeds at what was it .. 500 KB/sec? Moore's Law multiplied by factor 3 applies to Flash memory; it's developing so fast that it's hard to keep track on. This is also why you'll see more and more Flash reviews on Guru3D.com, as it's very important technology. In fact we hope to bring you the first Solid State Drive reviews pretty soon. OCZ has started a very nice product line on that as well.

As far as today's tested products go; both are just really good. But if you need a USB stick for extremely fast file copying, then the Rally 2 Turbo versions are the way to go. Simple technology, easy to use, durable and really really fast. But the 4 GB version right now will cost you roughly 60 bucks.

The 32GB version is still an excellent performer, yet on the write speeds you'll have to forfeit, though 5 MB/sec writing surely is nothing to be ashamed about. The sales pitch here is obviously the large volume size of the disk. 32GB is plenty to move around anything, and that's the beauty of it. Both product therefore are snazzy and very recommended.

Prices for OCZ's flash memory however are a tad on the high side at $168.

But they do top that off with a really nice life-time warranty, and that's just golden. So whether you want the fastest or the biggest USB flash drive on the market, OCZ has got whatever you need man.
