Very simple stuff, but details of the modules and timings can be read from a small sticker. You can spot the SKU number and generic info on there. Also info like latencies are displayed. It's good to see voltages being reported on there as well.

A lot of memory producers lack this info, yet it is so important. One hint to OCZ though, the modules are the shiznit to look at, but the sticker itself is rather tacky, isn't it? But let's run through some of the specs and features:

  • 6144 Megabytes of DDR3 memory
  • 3x 2GB modules
  • 2000MHz DDR3
  • CL 7-8-7-20
  • Available in 6GB (3x2048) Triple Channel Optimized Kits
  • Unbuffered
  • 1.65 Volts
  • 240 Pin DIMM
  • Pure Aluminum Heatsink
  • OCZ Lifetime Warranty

As you can notice, the interesting thing about the Blade kit is that it can achieve 2000MHz / CAS7 at 1.65 Volts. That remains within safely specifications defined by Intel. The memory controller is as you know located on the Core i7 processor. Since ours did cost 1200 USD, we like to keep things within safety limits. BTW OCZ offers a life-time warranty with these memory modules, nice.

Here we have the Blade heatspreader which is designed to enhance heat dissipation. A good thing here, it's designed to be low profile. The idea is that heat is moved away from the actual memory chips and this increases potential overclocking and stability.

A little OCZ PR: The new propriety design has numerous channels that increase the surface area to more efficiently offload heat away from the memory chips and PCB. Push your gaming or overclocking rig to the extreme with the superior thermal solution and unmatched speeds of the high-end Blade Series memory modules.

Here we have it live and active in our test system. Looking good for sure. The UV light on the right is killing the photo a little though.
