OCZ ATV Turbo 4GB memory stick review

OCZ ATV Turbo 4GB
SKU: OCZUSBATV4G
Info: OCZ Company Website
Price: 50 USD

Imagine it's a sunny day and you feel like having a swim in the ocean, yet you have this USB stick in your possession that you do not want to leave out of your sight. So what do you do? Electronics and H2O don't mix. Well you (one of the 0.0000002 % for which this situation applies by the way) are in luck my friend, OCZ just launched the ATV Turbo memory stick !

Okay sarcasm aside, we really don't have a need for water-proof sticks, but OCZ just launched a new memory stick which is exactly that. Now on a rainy day, knowing that your flash-media is secure and protected enough is quite a good thing. Let me quickly explain to you the stuff that really matters though. This is a 4 GB model which comes with a water-proof and shock resistant design.

It should be a pretty fast bugger of a memory stick though as it's rated at READ speeds ranging in the 33-35 MB/sec and comes with write speeds of 26-30MB/sec.

Another interesting thing here, is that with these read/write speeds Vista will smile on that flash drive and accept it as ReadyBoost memory, meaning another data-cache for all you Vista freaks out there. Let's have a look at OCZ's marketing spin:

The ATV Turbo takes speed to a whole new level for performance enthusiasts and boasts the fastest speeds on the market. Not only are these premium flash drives aggressively fast at transferring files of all types and sizes, but are optimized for Windows® Vista™ Ready Boost, offering true performance advantages to this latest operating system.

ATV Turbo flash drives feature durable and colorful rubber tread housing, which is a 100% weatherproof storage solution to keep digital files safe in any conditions, even fully submerged in water. The attached cap holder will help prevent misplacement of the protective key cover, while the chain can easily fasten to your key ring for ultimate portability.

Cool, it's water-resistant. Well, we can test that. Let me get some water. Next page man.
