Product Showcase Noctua NH-U14S
Next in line is the Noctua NH-U14S. This 140mm FAN model comes with an extra heat-pipe. More fan surface and a superb NF-A15 PWM fan. Armed with six heatpipes, one radiator and one of the best fans available on the market, the Noctua formula works out well.
The bigger U14S cooler has dimensions of 165(H) x 150(W) x 52(D)mm without the fan included. It weighs 935g with fan. The fan can be used in PWM mode controlled by your motherboard. Should you not have that option and if you can only feed it with 100% power, then included are little resistor wires to keep fan RPM at a drop-dead silent configuration.
Here again I need to mention that a second fan can be installed easily, so if you like to go for a push-pull configuration and perhaps shave off another few degrees of your CPU core temperature. As our tests will show, even with two fans the setup remains really silent.
When we flip the unit it around we see the heatpipes a little more up-close. Six of them making this product very efficient. The fan used here is a the NF-A15 140mm fan with PWM support for fully automatic speed control. Again VERY silent if you connect it to your motherboard FAN header, with a normal cooling profile you just won't hear it as it only has a maximum of 1200 RPM.
On the next page we'll start installation and show the SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting kit. BTW Noctua gives these products 6 years manufacturer’s warranty and I really want to mention this, their after-sales is great. Even when you purchase a new CPU that requires a new mounting socket, almost every time Noctua hands out upgrade mounting kits for free. That's expensive after-sales on their part, but hugely popular amongst you guys.
