Once unboxed you'll spot the cooling unit consisting of the heatsink assembly, fan and brackets + back plate that support a very wide range of AMD and Intel processors. A little thermal paste is included as well. Also included is a special screwdriver to mount the unit, we'll show you why later on in the article.

Amongst the kit you will find:

  • 1x NF-A14 PWM premium fan
  • Low-Noise Adaptor (L.N.A.)
  • Fan clips for second fan
  • NT-H1 high-grade thermal compound
  • SecuFirm2 Mounting Kit
  • Noctua Metal Case-Badge

Above the cooler placed on its side, we can see the base plate, it uses four copper based (nickel plated) heatpipes arranged in a C-shape design with the fan in the lower middle (you could also position it on top of course). The pure copper fins (nickel plated) effectively disperse heat away from the CPU via composite heatpipes, the fan quickly cools the fins for stable operation of high performance CPUs.

The included backplate and mounting kit supports a wide variety of CPU sockets. Intel LGA 115x, 1366, 2011 and AMD AM2, AM3, FM1, FM2 based processors can be used in combination with this cooler.  The  cooler is nice, not at all big at dimensions of 115(h)x140(w)x163(d) mm without the fan included. It weighs 1015 gram with fan. The fan can be used in PWM mode controlled by your motherboard. Overall you should be able to easily fit the cooler without blocking anything related to the motherboard including most DIMM modules
