Final words and conclusion

The Deep Silence 1 Dark Black as tested from Nanoxia today certainly left a good impression. These are the fiest ever chassis series that the company has released and they are definitely impressive.

The DS1 is an elegant, simple and definitely feature rich for a mid-tower chassis. You get a matte black designed chassis with feature wise options to put in many HDDs and devices. The chassis is fairly tool free, but does not have say easy click-in clips for your optical drives.

The inside of the chassis is spacious and offers everything you may expect from a chassis anno 2012, there is enough space to maneuver in. Cable routing options are there, albeit there is not a massive amount of space for your wiring though

Nice touches are of course are grommet holes for cable routing in the motherboard tray with the nice rubber inserts. The HDD/SSD drive cage work simple enough, though you do need screws to secure the actual HDDs, installation should be very easy otherwise.

What we like about the chassis mostly are the easthetics, it really scream, has very little logos, comes with a nice yet elegant dark design and that cool chimney that really finishes the overall looks.

In terms of cooling you'll receive three fans, but you can easily fit more fans in there from top to bottom really. The the upper side of the chassis seems solid, it vents hot air through the indentations so airflow wise we have very little to complain about either.

The top side front panel connectivity has been done nicely, all connectors are hidden away quite stealthy. Press a latch and the front-panel connectors appear. Maybe a tip for the next model would be a latch or door for the front panel though as on the top side there's bound the get dust inside the connectors over time. That's not critique yet more an advise though.

Inside there's not only plenty of space to work in, you can fit multiple graphics cards as well. And if you have an extremely lengthy one.

The HDD cages are removable and or adjustable. There's room for up-to eight 3.5" HDDs, three optical drives and then the eight expansion slots and support for even the largest of graphics card just really make this chassis complete.

The paint job is of good quality. Always do be careful if you purchase one and are installing the motherboard and other components, that paint is easily damaged, so use a cloth or something during installation of the PC.

So let's finish up this conclusion then. Features wise the DS1 chassis is just done right with a very tasteful design. And sure, taste differs per person of course, but the build quality and looks bring this chassis at a level where it can compete with brands NZXT, Corsair and Cooler Master.

Being smack-down in the middle of high-end mid-towers means that the chassis also comes with a price tag that was a little higher than I expected. In Europe expect to pay roughly 120 EUR for this chassis, however it really is money well spent. We can definitely recommend the product as honestly there is very little wrong with it, you just need to really like the design I guess. My compliments to Nanoxia for bringing their first product to the market with quality, design and excellent features.
