As stated, the chassis is made out of a steel structure with black faceplate/bezel, the bezel has two doors. The DS1 supports 5.25 inch drive bay external 3x, 3.5 inch drive bay external 1x (optional), 2.5/3.5 inch drive bay internal 8x. It makes the chassis a mid-tower. Size wise you are looking at Height (Approx.) 517 mm, Width (Approx.) 220 mm and the Depth (Approx.) 532 mm

When we flip around the unit we can see the all closed side panel a little better. The panel can be removed be removing two thumbnails at the back and then pull it towards you, it is the old traditional way of chassis panel removal.

The backside then. Next to the rear IO we spot a 140mm (included) fan. All three fans in this chassis can be PWM fan controlled. The DS1 has 8 card slots and at the top and bottom we spot two  grommet holes, these could be used for some sort of external liquid cooling or to route cables.

I quickly removed the side panel, two thumbscrews at the rear secure it down. The entire chassis has lots of sound dampening materials applied to it. So these two solid side panels  use sound absorbing materials contribute significantly to the most effective noise reduction.

On top we click on a latch and suddenly Front panel connectors lift upwards, You'll have plenty of them including MIC/Headphones, a good two USB 2.0 and included as well here are two USB 3.0 headers, these can be connected through the internal motherboard USB 3.0 connector. Lacking is a Firewire connector. All the way in the front we see a power on/off button which functions as activity LED as well.

Below it we spot three 5.25" drive bays. The entire front panel is removable with clip on fan slots, the meshed 5.25" covers are protected with dust filters. As you can see up top are two fan controllers, we just love that. To the right you can see the reset button.

We love this part, say you have a very warm day or a multi-GPU frag-fest and are in need for some an extra air exhaust, well slide that latch and the top segment pops upwards, this is the Nanoxia Air Chimney. It is easily retractable and whatever your preference is,  the simple look of the case is maintained, without sacrificing useful features and options for ventilation. Nice huh?
