Final Words and conclusion

Final words and conclusion

The Vigor GK71 Sonic is a mechanical keyboard designed by MSI, featuring a non-detachable cable ending in a USB Type-A 2.0 connection. The keyboard boasts the latest innovation in the world of gaming – the Blue switches. These switches are a step above the lightest in their class, designed to provide fast and responsive gameplay. In collaboration with the renowned manufacturer Kailh, MSI has developed the Blue switches with a 45-gram actuation force, which is an important aspect for competitive gamers who require a quick response time. The Vigor GK71 Sonic is the first keyboard to feature these new switches. In addition to the impressive switches, the Vigor GK71 Sonic also offers media functions. On the top right corner, there are media buttons to control your music or videos without the need for shortcuts. The keyboard includes buttons for previous, next, play, pause, and mute, as well as a media wheel to directly control the volume. The keyboard also has RGB lighting, adding to the aesthetic appeal of this gaming device.

Downsides then; MSI Center is a piece of bloatware, not just that it collects data and transmits that to MSI, hence the tremendous eula you need to agree to during installation; please do disable that within the software suite. Also, it's not one piece of software you'll need to install, to control keyboard RGB from the software suite, you'll need to install the mystic light module. Another negative is the lack of a USB dock of some kind in the keyboard—other than that, we have very little to complain, though.

Concluding

The MSI Vigor GK71 Sonic is a premium wired keyboard that boasts of its vibrant RGB lighting and distinctive keycaps. The linear MSI Sonic blue switches complement the keycaps to offer both style and functionality. Despite being a fan of non-linear switches, I found the typing experience on the GK71 Sonic to be quite smooth and bouncy due to the light switches and indented keycaps. They do make the standard mechy noise, though. Some drawbacks may discourage potential customers. Firstly, the non-detachable cable may cause issues with longevity. Secondly, the keycaps may not appeal to everyone's taste and finally, it lacks a USB dock/HUB. The MSI control software, let me put it mildly, is a lot to deal with. The MSI Vigor GK71 Sonic blue is a proper mechanical keyboard that combines high-performance technology with a stylish design. This keyboard features a non-detachable cable with a USB Type-A connection and is designed with the latest innovation in the world of gaming – the Sonic blue switches. These switches, developed in collaboration with Kailh, are the medium weight ones in their class and boast a 45-gram actuation force. This key aspect is important for competitive gamers who require a quick response time, and the Vigor GK71 Sonic is the first keyboard to feature these new switches.

In addition to the Blue clicky switches, the Vigor GK71 Sonic Blue also offers media functions that are conveniently located in the top right corner. With media buttons for previous, next, play, pause, and mute, as well as a media wheel to directly control the volume, this keyboard provides a seamless way to control your music or videos. The Vigor GK71 Sonic is also equipped with proper and bright RGB lighting, adding to its stylish aesthetic appeal and providing a visually stunning experience for gamers. With an MTBF of 1.6 million hours and a 5-year warranty, the Vigor GK71 Sonic Blue is a gaming keyboard that is built to last and delivers at a modest price of 110 USD, breaking away from Cherry's switches dominance and monopoly in the market (which is much needed as it keeps prices too high).
