The Twin Frozer II slowly starts to grow on me. Initially they where planed on a product that ran excruciating hot making the coolers perform at maximum RPM and this is noisy. With this R6950 all is good though, the card is not at all noisy and the actual cooling performance is just really good. as you can expect to see a maximum temperature of give or take 60 Degrees C under hefty gaming load.
The backside of the product shows your typical MSI design, we are not sure if this is 100% custom or hints to the revision 2 of the reference PCB. We wonder because the reference boards all come with a second BIOS and a switch, that switch is not located on this PCB, but the SMD/SMT imprint is there alright. Make note of two CrossfireX connectors, this card can be setup in 2/3/4-way multi-GPU mode. We'll be testing that in a separate article of course.
Located at the top side of the cards we spot power connectors. The R6950 will require two 6-pin PCIe PEG power connectors whereas a R6970 will need one 6-pin and one 8-pin PCIe PEG power connectors.
