Product Showcase

As is customary, we begin with the basics, the packaging, so you know what to look for at the stores. The power supply inside is well wrapped and sealed in a carton. The MSI MPG A1000G has a single 12V rail and a completely modular design. The power supply is carefully shielded, and the modular wires are housed in separate compartments. In addition to the cabling, you will receive screws and a manual. With a black motif, the PSU restores this beautiful matte dark finish. The PSU is compatible with all current CPU and GPU generations and has a large capacity on its single +12V rails, making it ideal for one or two high-end graphics systems.

Generally, the aesthetic aspect of power supplies is the least significant, but this is not the case with the MSI MPG A1000G. Its exterior is visually appealing, and because it is meant for high-end gaming equipment, it makes logical that it is flashy so that it is not overwhelmed by the other components. The dimensions of this strong power supply are standard, approximately 150 x 150 x 86 mm and ATX style for similar chassis.

The A1000G  features rear vents that let hot air to escape from the hardware body, and the power cord plug is a conventional three-pin plug. This area also includes a  button to turn on or off the power supply, and, a zero RPM feature, up to 40% usage/load the PSU is passive. However, the button is to activate a slow rotation mode of the fan if you like a bit of a chill.

It is a strong power supply with a maximum load of 1000W and a small design, making it a very versatile alternative for creating enthusiast-class PCs. It has the single 12v rail design that we all look for in a good power supply, and the lower buses are taken from it in an efficient DC-DC setup. Even with this design, which is typically more efficient, we receive an 80 Plus Gold certification.

This model offers us with 1000W of maximum power with a load of up to 83.3A, as previously said, a single 12 volt rail It is more complex to reach these levels of efficiency, so MSI has had to use a careful electrical design inside with high-quality components such as its completely Japanese (Nichicon) solid capacitors with that can reach 105C.
