When we place the motherboard at an angle we see socket SP3 / TR4. It will support all Threadripper processors and is actually based on the SP3 Epyc socket, this is referred to as the server class up-to 32 core processors. The cooler mounting system is the same for both. This board has 4 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and 1 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots

Storage ports then -- the board is fitted with 8x SATA3 ports. There is no U2 connector or anything, real-estate that nobody is going be using either really.

The board holds 3x M2 connectors all hidden under that huge chipset heatsink. Just plug them in and secure them with a screw. The inside of the shields have thermal padding, remove the plastic, secure it and this will function as a bit of cooling as well.

As stated, there are three locations for M2 SSDs, I like that very much. The entire board has RGB LED lighting as we'll show you in some photos. All configurable by Mystic Light software.

The memory DIMM slots, the board supports single, dual and quad channel with support for up-to DDR4 3600+ and starts at 2133 MHz memory modules. 8 x DDR4 DIMM sockets can support up to 128 GB of system memory with Threadripper processors. We recommend 3200 MHz low latency memory (CL14). MSI also is listing the DIMM slots as ECC UDIMM memory compatible. BTW I have also populated all eight slots with the FlareX memory, and it booted fine in 3200 MHz CL14.
