The board is based on a 12+2+1 power phase design and cooled by big aluminium heat sinks. The PCB is 6-layers. The motherboard has one 2.5 Gb LAN and a wireless LAN module (Wi-Fi 6E). The MSI B650M Mortar WIFI includes two full-length PCIe slots, with the top two operating at PCIe 4.0 x16 and the second one at PCIe 4.0x4. The third slot is a shorter PCIe 3.0 x1. MSI includes two PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 slots. It is also possible to connect six SATA ports for storage. Four memory banks support up to 128 Gb of DDR5-6400+ (OC). There is no onboard power, reset button, or two-digit LED debugger.

Wi-Fi is available; it’s an 802.11ax 6E Module and supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ax. There is one Ethernet controller, a 2.5 Gigabit RTL8125B. Also - there are four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, and one USB 3.2 Ge2x2 Type C. You can also find HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 video outputs for users utilizing Intel’s integrated graphics.

The onboard audio is based on the ALC4080 codec. The other features are:

• Supports S/PDIF output
• Supports up to 32-Bit/384 kHz playback on the front panel
