The new GeForce RTX 3080 features 12 GB of GDDR6X memory and operates at 19 Gbps, a rate that most of us are familiar with in comparison to previous-generation devices. On the next pages, we'll detail the complete specification. BTW, we get this question frequently, but yes, these photographs were taken during our own photo session and were not produced externally.
The reference RTX 3000 cards all get HDMI 2.1 connectors and the latest iteration in DisplayPort. Additionally, the reference cards receive a new 12-pin power connector header (converter cable included feeds from two 8-pin connectors). Bear in mind that I'm referring to the FE editions here. AIB partner cards may choose and utilize whatever they like. MSI chooses three PEG power connectors with eight pins each. It's a bit overkill really.
The IO panel is used as an air vent and shows four display connectors, three DisplayPort 1.4, and one HDMI 2.1 connector that will bring 8K 60 Hz HDR to a single HDMI cable. No more USB type-C VirtualLink connector, as that one is going the way of the dodo.
The card features three fans and retains the standard 8-pin power connector architecture. The card features a sleek wrap concealing the beefy cooler. Although the design incorporates several premium elements, most notably the upgraded TRI FROZR cooler, the fans are based on the current TORX FAN v4.0 design. The rear is particularly interesting since it displays an aluminum backplate that should aid in passive temperature conduction towards the card.
Everything has been upgraded on a hardware level with the SUPRIM X. Inside the PCB, thickened copper (2oz) traces; on the cooler's outside, brushed aluminum coating with precision-cut edges. Then, for added comfort, the dual BIOS is set to Silent out of the box (we recommend keeping it at that setting). The Gaming or Perf mode offers almost identical performance, but offers increased fan performance and thus a cooler product at the cost of higher acoustic levels.
It's been brewing for a while now, a 'Ti' model of the GeForce RTX 3090. The flagship series is further improved, with faster memory, more shaders, and an increased TGP sitting in the 450-500 Watt ...
