Product Gallery -- MSI 785GM-E65
When we flip the board around once more we spot 4 DIMM slots. Up-to 16 GB can be configured here. The 24-pin motherboard connector is placed reasonably okay in the lower middle. Next to it, an IDE Parallel ATA connector.
Moving slightly to the left, here we see four SATA2 ports and then (hard to see) behind them another SATA connector. At the backpanel you'll notice a eSATA port thus that makes connectivity for six SATA based devices.
The left side of the motherboard. Underneath that little grey heatsink the Southbridge chip is located; SB710. Here we also spot the front panel connectors, not color coded, and roughly in the middle we spot another three headers for USB ports.
Here we have a better overview of the passive cooling. Heatpipe based, covering the 785 chipset and voltage management.
All the way back in the front we see the main slot connectors. Mind you that this is a mATX design and thus there's much less space for slots. But for an mATX board this is lovely though: 1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIE_16), 1 x PCI Express x1 slots and two PCI slots. That's a lot of connectivity for mATX.
The little red block with switched is actually an OC switch which increases the FSB automatically.
ON-ON = default
ON-OFF = 10% extra on FSB
OFF-ON= 15% extra on the FSB
OFF-OFF = 20% extra on FSB
One last overview of the board, this is a good looking and feature rich motherboard for the money alright.
