Beside the challenge within training session, each track also got it's own challenge, usually mastering it's hardest corner and racing with the track leader. The challenge rating range from one to three stars where one star was quite easy to complete and three star need you to be perfect or sometimes perform a miracle to beat it. The key here to complete each challenge was never run off the track and don't ever hit the barrier for each challenge cause every time you run off the track or hit a barrier it will take 1 second from the challenge timer. Especially in the three star challenge, every second was very precious cause the time given was barely enough for you to complete the challenge. The credits you earn have to be distributed among your cornering, braking, top speed and acceleration ability. One of the new feature from the first MotoGP is that you can redistribute the credit you earn over and over again. Let say, youre going to race at Mugello which got a very long straight and fast corner, so you can distribute the credit more to top speed. And if you're going to race at the Suzuka track which got many sharp corner, just distribute more credit towards cornering and acceleration.

In the training challenge, everytime you passed, youll get one experience credit. While if you win the race in career mode (rookie difficulty only) you earn 3 experience credit for every winning.

In stunt mode, you race against a computer opponent and collect as many point as you can by performing stunts such as wheelies, jumps (very hard to do), power slides and burnouts. This is where you can unlock hidden expert riders like Valentino Rossi and Max Biaggi. To unlock Valentino Rossi which is the game best 'expert' computer rider, you have to earn a minimum of 1000000 points (yes, that is million). In time trials mode, you have the option to race around any track for how many laps that you want and set the best time in order to unlock the track mirrored and backward option.
