Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO review

This time, we’re checking out the Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO, a successor of the O11 Dynamic chassis, which we reviewed four years ago. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO appears to have changed very little from the original. You can now install a 280mm radiator in the side location, and there are mounts for eleven (but nine are provided in the bundle) storage drives rather than six. It was showcased in February 2021 and June 2021 and was introduced to the market in December 2021. In the meantime, we also got to check the Mini version (and Air Mini has also been introduced, the XL is also worth mentioning). But getting back to the Dynamic Evo – it’s a (rather extensive) ATX mid-tower chassis with around 61 l of volume.

The looks are definitely something familiar but a bit refined. Lian Li advertises sliding front inputs, an easy-to-invert design, better airflow through the separately available mesh front, and much more. Again, like in the predecessor – we won’t find fans here. There are three colour variants available:

  • Modern Black
  • Pure White
  • Harbor Gray (the one reviewed)

The exact dimensions are 465 × 285 × 459 (L×W×H) in total; it’s 60.8 l of volume, so that’s in the upper range of the mid-tower chassis. The O11 Dynamic EVO supports E-ATX (ATX, uATX, and mini-ITX) motherboards. You can buy up to five additional accessories, which include:

  • Vertical GPU kit – to show off the GPU and increase airflow at the lower or upper position according to the clearance needed at the bottom.
  • Upright GPU kit holds thin and thick GPUs next to the motherboard for unrestricted chimney-style configuration.
  • Additional I/O kit – for increasing the number of ports with an additional USB 3.1 Type-C and two USB 3.0 Type-A.
  • Front Mesh kit - replaces the front glass panel with a mesh panel and supports brackets for up to 3x120mm or 2x140mm fans at the front.
  • Top I/O kit - enables PC placed on the floor to have top accessible IOs.

The weight is 12.7 kg. You can install the following number of drives:

  • Bottom:2.5” SSD × 4 or 3.5” HDD × 2
  • Side:2.5” SSD × 4 or 3.5” HDD × 2
  • Drive Cage:2.5" SSD × 3 or 3.5" HDD × 2 + 2.5" SSD × 1
  • Cable Management Bar:2.5” SSD × 2

So in total, it can be up to 13 SSDs or up to 6 HDDs. On the front, you will find the following ports:

  • 2 × USB 3.0
  • 1 × USB 3.1 TYPE-C,
  • 1 × HD AUDIO/ MIC
  • LED Color and Mode button
  • Reset Button
  • Power Button

The Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO provides many cooling options, supporting radiators

  • Top: 360mm × 1 or 280mm × 1 (*Total max thickness: 87.5mm)
  • Side: 360mm × 1 or 280mm × 1
    *Inner scenario total max thickness:
83mm(120mm fan on top and bottom)
63mm(140mm fan on top and bottom)
    *Outer scenario total max. thickness:
120mm(120mm fan on top and bottom)
100mm(140mm fan on top and bottom)
  • Bottom: 360mm × 1 (*Total max thickness: 87.5mmIt’s possible to mount)

As for the fan installation, there are the following options (as no fans are bundled, you need to buy them by yourself):

  • Top: 120mm × 3 or 140mm × 2
  • Side: 120mm × 3 or 140mm × 2
  • Bottom: 120mm × 3 or 140mm × 2
  • Rear: 120mm × 1
  • On Drive Cage: 60mm × 1

You also get eight expansion slots. There is (only) one fan filter at the bottom. You can use CPU air coolers with a max height of 167 mm (enough to fit most models), and that’s a nice upgrade vs. 155 mm possible in the original O11 Dynamic. The GPUs can measure up to 426 mm in length. The PSU shouldn’t be longer than 220mm (still, that’s a lot). The base price is 169 USD. Will it be worth that price? First - let’s check out the specs and features of this chassis.
