Final Words & Conclusion

Final Words & Conclusion

The Leven JS600 looks like your “average Joe” SATA drive (well, if you don’t use something like e.g. RGB lighting, it’s hard to stand out from the crowd). This is a TLC NAND product, which does show in some areas (long sustained writes). The actual speed is more or less in line with the SATA3 standard, so you shouldn’t expect any anomalies here. This is a budget disk, but still doing it things like it should.

Performance

Bandwidth and IOPs are on a typical level, but you still shouldn’t have any complaints in this department either, and it’s not even that important for regular users. The drive did well enough in real-life tests, the temperatures were under control, and ~45 degrees is an ok result (on the back of the chassis), with no impact on the drive’s performance.

Conclusion

This is an adequate product. You can buy the 1TB version for around 90 EUR, and that’s a pleasant offer (9 Eurocents for 1 GB). It would be best if you also remembered that the price might drop even further, as that’s what the current market trend dictates. Leven gives a three-year warranty on the JS600 SSD, which has already become the market standard, but it’s still more than your typical warranty period in many countries. So, summing it all up, the JS600 has earned our “approved” award; this indeed can be used as mass storage for such data like videos or games. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but for the money, this could be an attractive alternative to get some TB SSDs on the PC. Most users who decide on this drive as an HDD replacement or additional SSD in the PC should be satisfied.
