The Lamptron HM70 FLIP’s plain cardboard box has a sticker with an overview of the product.

When you open the box, you can see a piece of plastic foam that protects the display (it was all good when it arrived from China), HDMI and USB cables, and last but not least – two remotes. What else is there?

Alongside the unit itself, you will receive a 1 m HDMI cable, USB lead for power, and Lamptron-branded Kingston USB 2.0 drive, which contains the monitoring software (and some ready layouts) and documentation for the screen. In addition, there are two remotes with which you may raise or lower the screen out of its housing.

The screen itself is black and has a relatively thin bezel.  For security, the display is provided with an adhesive film when delivered. The metal housing and flush screws make a solid impression, though it feels a bit simple. 

No company logo is on the front, while the rear holds a sticker with the model name, UPC code, and unique serial number for the included AIDA64 Business Edition. As that software is sold at $199.90 for ten nodes, you can consider this addition to the screen roughly a $20 value.

Looking at the top, you can see the silver spine on which the screen will be pushed up when raised. There is a small antenna wire on the left edge of the display. It works fine, but the wiring has been squeezed between the metal housing and display frame, which feels like it could damage the wire over time. 

A metal gear wheel can be seen directly in front of the display. It is responsible for the folding mechanism during operation. The display holders are located to the right and left of it. There is also contact here. It switches off the engine when the display is folded out. Another contact is on the other side; this is used to switch off when the display is folded.

On the left side of the screen, you can see the following:

• HDMI
• Headphone output (but there is no given purpose for it)
• Micro USB connection (provides power to the unit)
