OverclockingThe luxury of receiving a press-sample CPU has certain advantages that you and yours truly will never have when we buy it on the store. In this case the processor was unlocked, and well .. I have just the mainboard to deal with that. It makes determining the maximum possible overclock a bit easier.
Our overclocking experiences are more than sufficient, the 3.2 GHz CPU ran at the first try in tweaking at 3.5 GHz instantly with core voltage set at 1.6 volts and FSB increased to 4x220, we got a total of 3.52 GHz while remaining stable with a conventional cooling technique thus a standard fan/heatsink. The core ran at 65-70 Degrees C during the benchmarks. We didn't push any harder as we felt we where right on the maximum temperature. We ran a couple of tests to show off the performance increase:
