Coffee Lake-S requires a Socket LGA 1151, that is quite a number of pin contact points right there. You can use Series 300 motherboards for the Coffee Lake 9th gen processors. For the 8-core parts, I would recommend Z370. Intel uses its traditional socket mounting system that you know from the Series 100 and 200 platforms. An advantage here is that you can re-use your old cooler as the socket mounting itself has remained the same.
