Intel Core i7 9700K processor review - Product Showcase

In the photo above you can see the Core i7 9700K. This is an ES, the base clock frequency of this processor is 3.6 GHz with a Turbo to 4.9 GHz for one thread, and an all core Turbo frequency at 4600 MHz. This eight-core (eight threads) proc has a 95 Watt TDP.

 

 

It uses Socket LGA 1151, that is quite a number of pin contact points right there. You can use Z370 motherboards for the Coffee Lake 9th gen processors. For the 8-core parts, I would recommend Z390.
 
 

 

 
Intel uses its traditional socket mounting system that you know from the Series 100 and 200 platforms. An advantage here is that you can re-use your old cooler as the socket mounting itself has remained the same.
