ECS added four USB 2.0 ports. Very handy are the VGA and HDMI monitor outputs. Based on a VIA VT1705 CODEC we get 6 channel-audio, optionally driven though HDMI or the analog jacks. Next to that a full Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet jack is there for speedy Internet and file-transfers.
With the mainboard flipped around we see the Celeron 847 covered with a completely silent fan and just behind it the NM70 Express chipset. Not all ODMs (Original Device Manufacturer) use an active cooling solution though. We see one 4-pin power header for the CPU and one extra FAN header next to it.
Also located here are two DIMM DDR3 slots, we inserted 8GB in total (16GB optional) and it ran fine at the maximum configurable 1333 MHz. The memory is dual-channel.
Flipped around we spot a x16 PCIe slot, it's a nice slot to have on such a small form factor product. But obviously the CPU is underpowered overwhelmingly for the more serious graphics cards.
Behind it we see no less than three SATA-300 (SATA2 / 3G) ports, and the grey one is actually a SATA-600 (SATA3 /6G) port -- nice.
