So then, we finally arrive at Inno3D's offering. Inno3D will offer you the standard SKU next to this iChill edition. Granted the iChill edition will be slightly more expensive, but you do get to play around with some more goodies. For example, aesthetics alone. The DVI connectors are nice black colored and gold plated. And then that whale sitting on it's back. It is in fact the Arctic Cooling solution, which work wonders. There is however a nag with this model... once it's mounted on the product, it'll eat up a scary 3 slots..!

For those interested, there's another iChill SKU available, and that one comes with one of those superb ZEROTherm coolers. So then, the iChill AC cooler will do wonderful things as our tests later on will show you. The cards did not even peak any higher than 65 Degrees C, and that's with the product overclocked combined with a burn-in test, which is havoc on the GPU.

Oh yeah, I did not mention this... the card is overclocked for you. The core domain is clocked from 600 towards 700 MHz, the memory from 2x800 towards 2x999 MHz. And every time they do this deliberately... they do not overclock the shader domain; which I just do not understand as man, this card has overclocking potential... phew, we'll show you that later though.

There's more though, iChill products come with a 3 year warranty and hey now, even a full game is included, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. The title is slowly getting outdated though, but we take whatever we can get right? It's a brilliant game though.

Bundled in the package we find:

  • GeForce 9800 GT 512MB iChill edition
  • Driver CD
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
  • Manual / Quick installation guide
  • 6-pin power connector
  • SVIDEO / Composite video cable
  • Analog 3-way RCA HDTV connector
  • DVI to VGA dongle

What Inno3D really needs to alter is to remove the analog cables, and just insert a DVI to HDMI adapter, it's 2008 and we live in the digital era. So what does this product mean compared to last year's 8800 GT? Have a peek:

Really, the 8800 GT and 9800 GT are literally the same. AIBs have a little more freedom in terms of customizing the product. The overall consensus though is that the 9800 GTs are more overclockable... we'll check that out later on in this article.
