external storage drive rack by saying wow! This little baby is a lot more than just a fun toy, it's a powerful tool with a thousand and one uses. Now there have been a lot of reviews on external data storage devices so I am hoping to put a new spin on this product. This review had gotten off to a shaky start because of a buggy SATA drive, but the next day I was lucky enough to find a new 250 Gig SATA drive at my local computer store. Now with the MB559US-1S reloaded with a 250 Gig Seagate Barracuda SATA drive and working correctly, it was time to see what I could dream up to put this thing through.

Lets take a look at what you get:

The ICY DOCK MB559US-1S is packed well in a heavy clear plastic box.

After you unpack the box here is what you receive:

  • ICY DOCK MB559US-1S external storage drive rack
  • Power supply
  • Manual
  • All the cables you need for USB/eSATA
  • A 1 port eSATA PCI bracket.

Setup is very easy but the manual could be more helpful as it's very basic. It is however written in several languages.
After unpacking everything you start by opening the unit like this:
