Some marketing info first. The model was officially introduced on 3rd January 2023. List of the features:

Design

• Multi-dimensional details connect every part into a deeply harmonic design structure.
• Every edge is adorned in tightly controlled beveling for s-tier aesthetics.
• 2-Piece Panoramic Glass sets the stage for a completely unobstructed view of your system’s performance.
• Tinted glass blends with the black interior to compose your components into a cohesive assembly. Exclusively Vertical GPU Mounted

Ginormous vertical graphics support

• Expanding on the Y60’s exclusively vertical graphics architecture, Y40 delivers upgraded performance, compatibility, and aesthetics.
• The included luxury PCI-E 4.0 riser supports the latest and greatest graphics cards. It features the same color-matched canopy introduced with the Y60.
• As next-generation graphics cards grow ever more extensive and power-hungry, the Y40 grows GPU support to 4 full slots and additional airflow space between the edge of the card and the glass. An intake fan below the power supply shroud provides fresh air upwards to the GPU to improve cooling further.
• Fresh air is injected directly into GPU from the included fan hidden below.

Expansion cards

• Typically, vertical graphics orientations limit the user to a single PCI Express card, preventing expansion.
• Y40 includes support for up to 6 half-height expansion cards behind the primary graphics card
• Support for capture cards, PCI-E SSDs, sound cards, or others is maintained as long as that product is available in a half-height form factor. 

Cooling

• Y40 has a similar airflow design to its older sibling and has nearly the same wide range of cooling support
• The case comes with 2x 120mm fans pre-installed, one beneath the floor and one at the rear. Under the assumption that a liquid cooler will be side-mounted and provide an extra set of fans to drive airflow through the case
• The side mount can fit up to a 280mm radiator with a combined thickness of up to 120mm, allowing for large 60mm+ radiators to be used for custom loop configurations. 
• The top mount can fit up to a 360mm radiator for a dual radiator setup
• Y40 supports large air coolers over 180mm in height, allowing for almost every CPU air cooler on the market. 

Cable Management

• Y40 features a more standard cable management strategy, featuring cable management space behind the motherboard shelve and within the PSU shroud
• The cavity under the PSU shroud features HYTE’s new cable “shelf,” which allows cable management to sit further back within the case and away from airflow zones that may impact GPU cooling.
