First up, the photo-shoot. Okay, this is the part where we move away from the technical stuff for a minute and move on to the product photo-shoot followed by initial tests on heat, power consumption and noise levels.
We'll start off with the packaging and bundle, the HIS bundle software wise if you choose to opt for it, is great with the inclusion of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II. I think this version is just a tenner more expensive and comes with that download coupon code for Steam. You'll receive:
- One Radeon HD 5850 iCooler V Turbo with 1024MB GDDR5 memory
- Crossfire bridge x 1
- Manual
- Driver CD
- Molex to 6 pin PEG power connector converters x 2
As you can see, here we have the Radeon HD 5870 as supplied by HIS. It really has good looks, kind of solemn and flamboyant with its dark theme.
Nice dark blue PCB, cool looking iCooler with 80mm fan. Cooling performance is really good as you'll later find out.

Typically however, we do recommend you to not use more than two GPUs, as drivers wise you'll quickly run into problems, let alone performance scaling becomes more inefficient. To your upper right you can see the two Crossfire connectors. Lacking here BTW is a backplate - ATI does use them on their reference design cards.
