Page 2 - Bundled Stuff and Design

Bundled stuffIn the box, we can make note of the fact that where others go cheap and include hardly any software, HIS is paying attention to it's product, we see a lot of software bundled.

- PowerDirector 2.5 VE (make and create movies onto CD/DVD)
- Installation CD
- THQ's ZANZARAH - The Hidden Portal
- Ballistics
- PowerDVD XP 4.0
- 6-in-1 Game Collection (Age of Wonders II, Beam Breakers, Myth III: The Wolf Age, Rally Trophy, Stronghold Crusaders, Zax)

That's by all means nothing to be ashamed about. Next to the card itself we'll see a plethora of cables in the form of Molex power supply cable, SVideo cable and plug and of course a DVI to CRT/VGA cable changer so that you are able to hook up 2 CRT VGA monitors to your card.

Overall I think HIS deserves two thumbs up for their bundle.

Design
When we take a closer look at the board, we can notice that HIS used the standard reference design PCB. Notice that the 0.15µ graphics core is cooled with a awseome active DHES fan, The memory has been equiiped with ramsinks. BTW you'll find BGA Samsung 2.8ns memeory there. Furthermore we can make note of the fact that you will have to hook this graphics card up towards your power supply, it will not feed off of your AGP port, it's hungry ;)

The design is clean, good. On the frontside we'll find CRT/SVideo out and DVi-I connectors.

When we startup Rivatuner (download) and verify the core/memory settings, we can see that at BIOS and driver level everything seems alright in terms of frequency. The core is in fact 2 MHz below specification.
