4. How much money did you spend on the rig as it is right now
?

I actually had to look it up because I bought a lot of small parts and hardware all over the place and lost track somewhen. I collected all bills I still could find and counted over 600 Euro. If I consider that my Dremel went up in smoke during the project, you may add another 140 Euro for the replacement. Luckily I also managed to get some parts for free, like the motherboard tray and had other parts lying around like the MB and RAM. The wine crate itself was a gift from my girlfriend. :-)

5. How often do you update/buy a new rig?

Often. I have more than one computer so I get to fool around with hardware a lot. However, I rarely build a new computer from scratch like this one. Last time I did was four years ago. Back then I built me a high-end gaming rig with custom water cooling in a heavily modded Obsidian 800D case. Good times.

6. What components are used?

Most of the stuff is already quite ancient. I used an Asus P7P55D MB with an overclocked Intel Xeon X3480 @ 4.0 GHz and 16 GB RAM. However, the Graphis card is a brand new Red Devil RX580. I liked the satanic touch, so I bought it to satisfy the metal gods. I used three Lian Li RGB fans with an external RGB controller. Their aluminum frames look cool, but unfortunately, the bearing quality is rather poor.
