7. Why AMD-ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel or AMD?

I think I have a soft spot for AMD as I see them as the under dog, but, I’m an enthusiast, I will buy what ever product offers the best performance at the price at which I’m buying – I believe you would be a fool to do it any different

8. Does your PC live up to your expectations?

Absolutely. I bought the Ryzen chip within a few weeks of release. Before I switched over I ran a bunch of benchmarks on the i7 4790k and then again on the Ryzen 1700 and wasn’t surprised to see lower performance. My justification for upgrading was to have the extra cores when needed and to get a newer platform giving DDR4 and full m.2 speed. I kept running the benchmarks as bios improvements, game optimisations and faster ram support came. It wasn’t until June that I was able to run my ram faster than 3000mhz (3333mhz) and with the bios/game improvements, the benchmarks finally moved ahead of the i7. Games always felt smoother on the Ryzen and for that reason, I am happy to say that it meets my expectations!
