4. How much money did you spend on the rig as it is right now?

The cost of my system is hard to tell , it's my third case.
First there was the Cosmos S (rig of the month October 2009) , then I bought a Zalman reserator XT cooling for my cpu and put it on a LIAN-Li case , now I bought a new LIAN-Li case and build it as it is now.

Let see , the rig of the month October cost me about 3500 Euro. I used all that hardware except case and Ram.
Bought new DDR3 RAM: Dominator 6GB 8-8-8-24 1600 oc'd to 1775MHz. Cost 209 Euro.
New case LIAN-Li : 109 Euro
New HDD : VelociRaptor 300GB : 205 Euro
A 9800GT just for physx: 89Euro
Zalman Reserator XT : 349 Euro , This I'm not using any more , I will use it on my wife's pc.
Watercooling stuff: all together about 1300 Euro.
 

5. How often do you update/buy a new rig?

I update my system when I see new hardware that I think will be a real upgrade for me.
I thought a long time buying the new six core from Intel (980x) but for what I need my system my overclocked Core i7 940 will do just fine , the same for my GPU's. I'm still satisfied on how they perform , so no need to upgrade for me there. I wanted to buy 2 GTX480's or 2x 5870's , I believe I'm still in love with my 2 GTX280's ,I took that money and spend it on the watercooling.
Maybe when ATI comes with the 6...series or NVIDIA with a refresh of the Fermi or 5..serie and they perform so much better then what I have now ,you will see me running to the candy shop.
