Hmm, hard to say but probably more than $3000 and lots and lots of hours over the last 4 months.
5. How often do you update/buy a new rig?
I try to start a new project every 6 months or so. Right now I am working on two projects, a Parvum and a Corsair case mod.

Fractal Design ARC Mini R2 case, ASUS Maximus V Gene, Intel i7 3770K, EVGA GTX 970 in SLI, 16GB of Corsair Dominator GTs, Crucial MX100 256GB and 5120GB SSDs, Corsair AX860 PSU, watercooling from Alphacool, EKWB and Bitspower, custom sleeved cables by Icemodz.
