A heat spreader does not always bring the temperature down. Rather than that, it moves the heat from the chips to the PCB, distributes it more evenly throughout the module, and eliminates potential hot spots. Theoretically, this should allow better overclocking.

G.Skill equips the Trident Z5 7200 CL34DDR5 memory modules with an aluminum heat spreader with a matte black color.

It looks attractive and should make this memory kit appear nice in a build.

The total height of the stick is about 43 mm/1.69 inches. That’s a relatively low-profile module, so you shouldn’t encounter problems with air coolers. However, we always recommend double-checking whether any clearance issues won’t occur before you buy this set.

The module’s weight is 61 g, so the radiator seems quite solid.
