System Memory Bandwidth Performance – AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

System Memory Bandwidth Performance – AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

First up is the AMD system. We tested the memory tweaked to lower timings using the default voltage. We used the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen for some guidance. One remark, though - Ryzen 3000 processors with up to 8 cores make use of a single CPU die. The CCD/IOD link is 32B/cycle while reading and 16B/cycle for writing, so that’s why the write performance is halved. This is normal.

But what if you want more? I’ve checked this by setting the voltage up to 1.5 V (which is acceptable for most memory chips and only 0.05 V more than the standard one) and then gradually increased the frequency until I saw any signs of instability. You can check the results on the next page.
