The Z490 board is priced at an MSRP of $199 and that's running towards 239 EUR in the EU. We deem that to be a lot for more fair of money, it seems okay as you are getting the 3x PCIe 3.0 x4 M.2, 2.5 G Ethernet, and plenty of USB options. The board has triple PCIe 3.0 x16 slots + 2x PCIe 3.0 x4 which can be arranged in these slot configurations:
- 1-way mode - x16 / x0
- 2-way mode - x8 / x8 / x4
The motherboard comes with a duo of 4/8-pin connectors. You'll get four DIMM slots that can be used for dual-channel memory. Up-to 4400 MHz supported in OC mode. Please do check compatible memory and thus the QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists). The Z490 motherboard will get you six SATA 6 Gb/s storage ports. Combined in here is two M.2 PCI Express slots using x4 PCIe lanes, thus 32 GB/sec of performance. The third and unshielded one with the sticker apparently cannot be used in RAID once you use SATA3 SSDs. The purple discoloration btw is something else when powered on, these ate RGB strips.
