A quick note first, the backside of the board has a backplate, coated with nanocarbon. Gigabyte claims better thermal conductivity, especially the VRm should see another 10% thermal reduction. When we place the motherboard at an angle we see the AMD Socket sTRX4. It will support only Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series (and newer), processors. The board has a 2x 8-pin power headers available for the processor. The board has an advanced and improved power design, a good 16 phases for Vcore (70A) phases to cope with the many-core processors and their needs in energy.

Storage ports then -- the board is equipped with eight SATA3 ports. Here we see that a bit better. Just a proper eight SATA3 6Gbps ports, alongside four M2 slots that have been tucked away under the heatsink. With four NVMe PCIe Gen3/Gen4 x4 M.2 connectors onboard you can imaging extreme storage solutions. The memory DIMM slots have been reinforced with metal shielding. As stated on the previous page it supports single, dual and quad-channel with support up-to DDR4 4400 (O.C.) and starts at 2133 MHz memory modules. 8 x DDR4 DIMM sockets can sport up to 256 GB of system memory. There are some normal-sized and micro buttons available to be able to power on and reset directly from the motherboard. You'll also spot embedded, and included a LED strip header. The chipset is cooled with an active fan, however, this fan could not be heard during our testing.

Also included an AORUS Gen4 AIC Adaptor including 5.5m pure copper heatsink, 5cm double ball bearing fan, M.2 SSD baseplate and multiple thermal pads to cool down both sides of 4 M.2 high-performance SSD with active cooling. Users can choose 3 different fan profile based on hardware configuration to reach a good balance of high storage performance and low noise.
