DX 11: Middle Earth: Shadow Mordor

Middle Earth: Shadow Mordor Benchmarks

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is an action role-playing video game set in The Lord of the Rings universe, developed by Monolith Productions and released by Warner Bros. The game takes place during the gap between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings saga. We set image quality to in-game "Very High". Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor has a built in benchmark. It is not exactly the most precise tool in the shed, therefore you should always keep a variance of roughly 5% in mind. You can run this benchmark 3 times and all times the results can differ slightly. Also switching in-between quality modes and restarting the game often results in the game forcing old image quality settings again. We'll see how this benchmark is going to develop in the future though.

So, in the chart above the results you should focus on are the 2560x1440 ones as hey, it is a good reproducible benchmark for you guys as well. When we move up-to Ultra HD (3840x2160) we see we can no longer play the game at an acceptable FPS.

We however test because we want to see the advantage of the extra 2GB VRAM scaled upwards up-to 5K Ultra HD. Now at 5 K the difference is 2 FPS, but 2 FPS at that level is 20% extra performance. So yeah, that's where it makes a difference, but the card obviously is not capable of sustaining an acceptable frame-rate.

More comparative results to other cards will be added in the future. The game was recently released and I wanted to simply give an impression of what you may expect performance wise.
