Performance - DDR3 Memory read | write

Memory Read test

Obviously we also had to peek at memory bandwidth performance. Now, obviously Intel has an advantage here, the Nehalem memory controllers are absurdly fast offering tremendous amounts of read/write performance for the Core i7 platform. All reference results are based on 1333 MHz with CAS9. The overclocked results as started have memory running at 2133 CAS7.

Memory Write test

We did the same with the memory write tests. Intel absolutely dominates with the memory controller based on-die Nehalem family processors. You can only imaging what is going to happen when quad-channel memory arrives next year. BTW make no mistake, quad-channel always has been in the Nehalem architecture from the start.

Sandra Memory Index

One more memory test, here we make use of the Sandra Memory performance test, it gives us an index score of overall memory performance. Here again the numbers show amazing performance differences.
