Final words and conclusion

The Gigabyte Force M7 Thor is a nice addition to gaming mice within it's class. It does leave me with mixed feelings though. It's a great little mouse with good looks and a comfortable feel. Playing games with it will rock. These mixed feelings however are the direct result of the fact that other mice in this price class could offer more. The rubber cabling is 'so 2006'. Next to that the lack of any macro programmability for any gaming mouse anno 2012 is simply something I miss quite a bit. 

So yeah, the THOR not at all revolutionary in its design, it's one of many out there and if I can say this carefully .. looks a lot like a competitors mouse. 

Overall though the mouse is great with a good grip in your hands, the software engine however is too basic . The overall feel of the mouse is good as well. The curves and sizes match my hands quite well and during gaming you simply do not pay attention to the mouse as if it is non-existent. And that is great as it becomes an extension of your mindset.

The design of the mouse is good as-it is a sturdy mouse that can definitely take a small beating. It has nice looks. Next to that a long cable is being used as well. The 1.8 m cord of the mouse is rubber though, to enhance its durability according to Gigabyte. We can see the end where it extends out of the mouse is also re-inforced to enhance its durability. The USB 2.0 connector is gold-plated.

So the build quality overall is good especially for a 29 USD mouse, we get to have the 6000 DPI laser engine, controllable DPI selection, and you get a mouse that is comfortable to work with.

The mouse does not feel at all cheap and simply is downright easy to use. The buttons give  a good response feedback when pressed and also offer very good response.  We like the Teflon base. 

The Gigabyte Force M7 THOR can be purchased in stores soon, if not already available. Expect the prices to hover at roughly 29.99 EUR. That is just not a lot of money for what you get, see for that money you receive a well designed gaming mouse. However the lack of programmable Macro's, weight system and more advanced software suite make this a product that feels a little run of the mill. Realistically though, it's a great mouse if you are not interested in the aforementioned features. So what I am trying to say here is that the basis and its basics are really good, but the extra high-end features certainly are missing. But 29 at bucks ... not bad at all, no Sir.
