Conclusion

The Verdict

Are you looking for a big case to use for your new PC? Then you should most definitely take a look at this 3D Aurora 570 II. Plenty of room even if you want a lot of hard disks, or optical drives. Even lengthy cards will feel right at home with it. Simple design that works and, in my opinion, looks very good, there are options about the color (silver or black) and even for the side panel (not just a plastic window or a metal mesh, but also if you want a side fan. That is however a different package and model number to the one we saw today.) Easy to use, with the motherboard easy to put into and easy to take the hard disks out since all you have to do is release two clips and they just pull out. It can accommodate lengthy power supplies without trouble. The front USB ports are located just below the middle of the case, and so you can reach at them without stretching since they are not all the way down, and can still work with them even if you have the case on a desk.

Now for the problems. The USB ports may be convenient to use, but at least for the first days until you get to know the case a bit and where the ports are, you need to open the front door to be able to see the where the ports are. They are not covered by the door, but it hides them from your point of view if you are looking from above. I dont need to see them now to use them though.

The only thing that I think might give you problems is the length of your cables. And that is again relative to the layout of your motherboard. Mine for example had the IDE headers further down. If I had been using my older one, I wouldnt have that problem because I had them further up. SATA cables are lengthy enough so you shouldnt have trouble with those. The thing that Gigabyte should have a look at might be to add some rubber padding on the inside of the front bezel and to use a bit of rubber on the feet. That would finish things off nicely.

From my point of view this case is recommended if you are looking for a big case with lots of space inside.

A big thank you goes to Gigabyte and an even bigger one to Cindy Chang from Gigabyte for the sample.
